The Nintendo Wii is a seventh-generation video game console released by Nintendo. The Wii competes with the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony Playstation 3. With its innovative design the Wii Remote can be used as a pointing device and detect movement in 3 dimensions.
The Nintendo Wii is Nintendo's fifth console and is capable of playing all the Nintendo Gamecube games. The Wii is said to target a broader demographic and as such is the leader in sales as of the end of 2008.
